Monday

Today was pretty slow. Tired from an overly lazy weekend. Here are things I learned today:
  • There is a, dare I say, shocking lack of coordination between and indeed even within the standards of light gauge metal framing manufactures and associations. What is the proper way of framing a box header? Why is there no consistency on the real thickness of a 20 gauge stud? As the prominent former CEO of a Phoenix architecture firm put it, "it's a mess."
  • May Day, which was May 1st, is a nationally recognized holiday for nearly 100 countries around the world celebrating labor. The US does not celebrate it, and, in fact, Law Day was created under the Eisenhower administration on that day as a way of countering  May Day's decidedly leftist overtones.
  • If you're into coding your websites the old fashioned way, you can set up a linked .css file which will govern any page which references it.
  • My facebook friends are making me jealous of ASU's graduate program by posting the study abroad programs they will be attending in the fall: Portugal, Istanbul, Ethiopia. Even though the programs are very short, most around a week to two weeks, its still international travel that pulls on my heart.
Let's go to Adam now, for sports!

Medium is the message

I moved the blog again. I deleted the Tumblr account and moved everything to Medium.com, a more writing-centric website. medium.com/@wende
